Our Volunteer Program

We love our volunteers! With volunteer experiences at Casa De Miel, we invite individuals to join a community of others interested in connecting through service experiences that may include garden activities, barn and facilities maintenance, and animal care. Volunteer service contributions allow our small team to focus on delivering meaningful programs for our diverse community of partners and individuals. We offer volunteer opportunities weekdays from 9am-3pm, and on the 4th Saturday of each month from 8am-11am.

Volunteer Spotlight!

~ Brent Couch ~

Brent has been volunteering with us since early 2024, and in that time, he’s made a lasting impact—not just on the beautiful land we care for, but on the people he works alongside. From helping build our greenhouse to playing a key role in constructing the apiary, Brent has shown up each week with a warm smile, generous spirit, and a true willingness to lend a hand wherever it's needed. We’re deeply grateful for your dedication, Brent—thank you for all that you do!

    Volunteer Day!

We encourage groups to come ready to get their hands dirty, be vulnerable, and be willing to step out of their comfort zone to fully experience nature.

  • "Casa De Miel is a home for my soul. I have connected with everything while being there, from the horses to the little growing strawberries. Casa De Miel has healed me and helped me grow in the most gentle way possible. Casa De Miel is comfort, kindness, and happiness."

    Brianna
    Youth Volunteer, Age 16

  • "Going out to Casa De Miel and spending time with their amazing crew of humans and animals feels like coming home. I originally inquired about volunteering because I missed horses, but found that every ounce of that place fills a void I didn't know I had. It really makes me feel like I belong."

    Katie
Clinical Social Worker / Therapist / CDM Volunteer

  • "CDM has given me a new community and new experiences that have changed the way I view the world. The space out here has allowed me to grow without fear of judgement and learn things I could never learn anywhere else. I am forever grateful for all CDM has done for me."

    Kara
    CDM Volunteer Coordinator

  • "Volunteering at Casa De Miel is one of my favorite days every month. The staff are amazing, the work feels meaningful, and I enjoy getting to meet and learn about other people in my community. My favorite part about Casa De Miel is the hammocks but also just in general the relaxing nature of a day out on the farm."

    Nathan Han, CDM Volunteer

  • "I like volunteering at Casa De Miel because they've given me plants and inspired me to start my own garden. I’m now a plant connoisseur!"

    David, Youth Volunteer

  • "The people are what makes Casa de Miel special! I've always been in a little bubble in high school, but talking to the people who work here makes me realize life is so much bigger than picking the perfect degree in college, and volunteering with my mom has been really fun since I get to see a different side of her when we come out :D It's so fun learning at CDM, too! What the crops planted in the garden are, what's good for the plants... It's also just fun to just dig around and talk while weeding or repotting!"

    Eshal, Volunteer and Program Attendee

  • " My favorite day at Casa de Miel was my third trip there. It was a beautiful spring day that started in the food forest. We did a little weeding around some young squash between the blackberry plants (they were almost ripe). After that, we harvested mulberries that were the best I’d ever tasted. Miss Piggy (the Kunekune) snuck over and was eating the berries on the ground and having a great time doing it while we harvested. The property is laid out so well demonstrating harmony with nature and creating an ecosystem between plants and animals. I really enjoyed hearing the birds, seeing the animals, and getting my hands dirty. Kara gave me some tea bags that the staff had recently put together when I was leaving, and I went home and took a nap. I go to Casa de Miel almost every week. It’s a chance to be around beautiful people in a beautiful place. It’s a great place to go with a group to share an experience in nature…it will make your day. If you go more often, it might just change your life."
